As Vice-President of Insurance, Trust and Estate Planning Services at RBC Wealth Management, Brenda McEachern brings a unique skill set to her current role. Her 30-year career spans law, insurance and philanthropy. As an estate and trust lawyer, Brenda has developed an expertise in charitable giving. As an estate and tax consultant with Canada Life, Brenda acquired an intimate understanding of insurance as a tax effective estate planning tool.
Brenda uses a creative multidisciplinary approach to helping affluent clients define and craft their financial legacy. She applies her specialized knowledge of insurance and trusts to customize solutions for each client’s individual circumstances.
Brenda received her B.Comm and LL.B from the University of British Columbia. She is a member of the Canadian Bar Association, the Society of Trust and Estate Practitioners and the Canadian Association of Gift Planners. She is a frequent lecturer on succession planning and charitable giving.
This session will have something for everyone - financial advisors, lawyers, fundraisers. In consultation with allied professionals, Brenda develops advanced estate plans and proposals for clients in business and affluent markets with a focus on generational wealth transfer, tax-efficient investment and insurance strategies, asset protection and philanthropy.
Brenda will be reviewing recent case studies highlighting creative gift plans built around publicly traded securities, estate freezes, and insurance.
